📁 What is a Project?

A project is a container for scripts. Sometimes this can be a simple one-to-one relationship - one project, one script. Other times a project could be a season of a series, or a specific campaign for marketing, that will contain a number of scripts.

Step 1: Create Your First Project

Creating a new project is simple:

  1. Click the "New Project" button from your dashboard
  2. Give your project a descriptive name
  3. Add a description that captures the vision, style, tone, or goals for this project
  4. Set the maximum shot duration - when we generate shots from your scenes, we'll automatically break them down so no individual shot is longer than this maximum. This ensures manageable shot lengths for video production and helps maintain good pacing.
  5. Click "Create Project"
🎯 Project Description Matters: The project description isn't just for organization - it's used in every generation down the line. Every script and shot generation job carries the project description with it. This is where you capture elements that go across multiple scripts. If it's a season, put the larger story arc here - each episode script will be a piece of that. Same with any multi-script project: use the description for the thread that ties them all together.

📝 Step 2: Add Scripts

Once you've created a project, add scripts to it:

  • From your project page, click "New Script"
  • You can start from scratch with a blank script or paste in existing content
  • Scripts can be edited and formatted using StableGen's script editor
  • Each script gets automatically broken down into scenes and shots

🗂️ Managing Multiple Projects

Projects are free and exist purely for organizational purposes. Create as many as you need to keep your work organized - separate projects for different episodes, clients, or campaigns. In the future we may add more features, but for now they're a simple way to group related scripts together.
